NEW DELHI, INDIA - AUGUST 02: Danish, 14, blows air in the mouth of an Indian Rock Pigeon after rescuing it from river Yamuna on August 2, 2016 in New Delhi, India.
YAMUNA today stands as the most polluted river in India with most of the pollution occurring in the capital city of Delhi. Because of the discharge of industrial effluents and domestic sewage, Delhi is responsible for 80% of the pollution in this river. Despite the toxic capacity of the river, boys from surrounding areas enjoy regular swimming in Yamuna during hot days.
